ONBOARDING CHECK-IN
  • VISUAL HEALTH EXAM:

    • All boarding cats will receive a complimentary visual health exam by our staff to assure there are no fleas or obvious signs of illness.

    • This exam is to determine whether your cat may be at increased risk for stress-related concerns or may be more susceptible to acquiring a contagious illness while boarding.

    • We will perform a quick ringworm and flea/tick/ear mite check before the owner leaves as well. If there are health concerns, you want to know the cat will not infect other boarders, that the feline is being monitored by a veterinarian and that the cat is stable enough that the stress of boarding will not have a negative outcome.

  • MEDICATIONS:

    • There is an additional fee of $7 per dose to administer medications that are given in ears, eyes, or in food/treats/Pill Pockets once or twice daily, and to a cooperative animal.

    • Medications must be in their original and correctly labeled containers.

    • Medication regimens that are more complicated, frequent, involve injections or a fractious, uncooperative, or fragile animal will be subject to additional charges. Examples would be those who are difficult to pill, require insulin, or SQ fluid administration.

  • CAT CARRIER:

    • Bring your cat(s) in their carrier(s). They will be properly labeled and available when you pick up your pet.

WHILE IN OUR CARE

WHAT’S PROVIDED:

  • Bedding

  • Toys

  • Litter

    • We use Pidan Tofu litter. We suggest that you bring a supply of your cat’s usual litter for their comfort and continuity of potty habits.

WHAT’S NOT PROVIDED:

  • Food

    • We ask that you bring all of the food (dry/wet), supplements, and treats that your cat will need for the duration of their stay. Change in diet may cause gastrointestinal irritation.

    • Should your cat exhibit decreased appetite during their stay, we may add a bland canned diet to their food to entice them to eat. Cost of cans is additional and will be applied to your account.

    • NOTE: We are unable to feed raw food diets due to the potential spread of Salmonella to our employees and other boarding cats. Thank you for your understanding.

  • PERSONAL ITEMS: You may bring your cat’s bed and other personal items (bowls, toys, etc.)

    • We will need to be able to wash these items if they become soiled. We USE BLEACH in our laundry cycles, so please let us know if this is an issue for your pet.

    • Since bedding and toys often look alike and are impossible to label reliably, they may become lost, mixed up, or damaged despite our best efforts. We are not responsible and will not replace or reimburse for these items.

OUR PROCEDURES:

  • Litter boxes are scooped and cleaned continuously as soon as they become soiled. Boxes are thoroughly disinfected between guests.

  • IF MEDICAL CONCERNS ARISE:

    • We work to create a feline-friendly, safe, and comfortable boarding facility. However, being away from home is stressful for cats, and some boarders may develop symptoms related to this. These can include digestive upset, decreased appetite, sneezing and/or runny eyes, and sometimes worsening of pre-existing health conditions.

    • Cats in boarding facilities may also be exposed to infectious diseases. While vaccines protect cats from many serious viral infections, other contagious illnesses can still circulate in facilities where multiple cats are housed. We do follow stringent hygiene practices. If permission granted, your cat(s) may have direct contact with other boarding cats in the boarding lounge.

    • Keep in mind that STRESS can trigger undiagnosed, fatal health issues like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Not only do you want to assure the cat will not bring something contagious into your facility, but we want reasonable assurance that our facility will be able to return a healthy cat to you, the owners.

    • In the event a medical concern is presented during your pets stay, a regular exam will be performed and charged along with any required treatments. We will make every attempt to reach you and the emergency contact provided.  However, to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet, we will automatically perform a physical exam and provide the appropriate medical treatment supervision at your expense if we are unable to reach you.

    • EMERGENCY VET: In a medical emergency, we will take your pet to VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Fishers, IN unless instructed otherwise.

CHECK-OUT
  • Pick-up of cats will be during Pawz Pet Café’s open hours, unless arrangements are made.

  • Pick-up day will not be included in final charge if picked up before 1pm on that day.
